Equestrian Life Qualifiers are NOT being held on the 5th May 2013 Open Show - They are now being held on the 16th JUNE 2013 & 21st JULY 2013 at our OPEN SHOWS, many thanks.
We are holding qualifiers for Equestrian Life on the 16th June 2013 & 21st July 2013 at our OPEN SHOWS.
We are holding qualifers for the UK Rider challenge for the Nationals held at Arena UK 17th August 2013, if you qualify between April & May then you can compete at the Regional Finals held in June & July 2013 - closest centre being Eland Lodge, Derbys.
We are also holding qualifers for the Dressage and Showjumping Championships at Cricklands (The David Broome Event Centre), SJ Champs are Seniors: 16th - 18th August, Juniors: 24th - 26th August 2013 & Dressage Champs are 4th - 6th October 2013 (which you can have a go at Dressage to Music).

PRACTICE EVENINGS
Practice evenings will be run Friday evenings from May to October at the cost of £5.00 per person, members and non members alike. All rings will be in use subject to ground conditions and weather. There will be NO first aid or toilets available at practice evenings.

CLASS SCHEDULE
STYLE AND APPEARANCE - RING 1 - 9.00 AM START
1 TACK AND TURNOUT
2 LEAD REIN - rider 8 yrs and under pony not exc 13hh, snaffle bridles only, lead rein must be attached to the noseband
3 FIRST RIDDEN - rider 10 yrs and under, pony not to exc 13hh, snaffle only, this class is designed for riders in their first year of showing off lead rein, lead riders are permitted to enter this class alongside class 2 for one full season only, then they will be required to compete off lead. Any rider entering both classes 2 and 3 will get rosettes in both classes BUT only points from class 2 will be carried forward to end of year points
4 BEGINNERS SHOWING - any age/height/breed, canter is optional in the individual show only, this class if for genuine beginners only rider/horse combination that have not competed in a style and appearance class before. Anyone entering this class CANNOT enter any other style and appearance class other than class 17
5 OPEN RIDDEN PONY - rider any age, pony not to exc 14.2hh
6 OPEN RIDDEN HUNTER - horse or pony (to include lead rein and first ridden)
7 OPEN RIDDEN HORSE - rider any age, horse to exc 14.2hh
8 RIDDEN LIGHTWEIGHT - TB/Arab/Riding pony/Show pony and Part-bred
STYLE AND APPEARANCE - RING 2 - 9.30 AM START
9 LEISURE HORSE OR PONY - this class will include a minimum of one obstacle eg jump and or bending poles etc, class is designed to show the suitability of the horse or pony for general riding club events, will be marked 40% show, 20% each obstacle and 20% turnout, obstacles are optional (NO LEAD REINS)
10 FAMILY HORSE OR PONY - open to any height, family horse and pony is for any horse or pony that can be handled or ridden by at least 2 family members
11 RIDDEN VETERAN - horse/pony aged 16 yrs and over
12 RIDDEN COLOURED - also open to lead rein and first ridden
13 RIDDEN COB TYPE
14 JUNIOR RIDDEN M+M - rider 14 yrs and under, includes lead rein (CANNOT enter any other ridden M+M class)

GAMES - RING 1 - NOT BEFORE 2.00 PM

** RULES FOR GAMES **
No whips or spurs
Correct riding hats, with straps fastened, MUST be worn during games classes
Correct footwear to be worn - NO TRAINERS
Leaders must be 14 years and over
A selection of 3 games will take place; games will be selected at the judge's discretion
Rosettes for each race will be awarded accordingly
The total of the 3 races will be used to convert into points towards annual trophies and overall points
CLUB RULES
All competitors to be a minimum age of 3 years of age for any class except class 1 and class 15 where the minimum age is 2 years but parents/guardians must sign a disclaimer
Maximum of 8 classes may be entered per horse/pony at any one show
Where age is relative to a class, competitor's age is taken as at the 01 January 2013
Correct riding attire, BS standard hard hats and suitable footwear must be worn at all times whilst mounted on the show ground
No horse/pony under 4 years of age are permitted in a ridden class
No stallions with the exception of yearling colts allowed at club shows, all colts must be suitably bitted
It is the competitor's responsibility to be at the correct ring when required, if competing in another class please notify the relevant judge, it is at the judge's discretion to wait or close the class
The judge's decision if FINAL in all respects
Children 16 years and under must be accompanied by an adult whilst on the showground at all times
The committee reserve the right to amalgamate or cancel a class if there are insufficient entries
In line with current DEFRA guidelines, all horses/ponies are to have a current passport available for inspection at any time
Where the height of a horse/pony is in dispute a height certificate should be produced
Regardless of age the rider must be a suitable height/weight for the horse/pony
ALL HORSES/PONIES KNOWN TO KICK MUST WEAR A RED RIBBON AT THE TOP OF THE TAIL
Three consecutive strikes with the whip will result in disqualification
Competitors must warm up/exercise their horse/pony in the practice ring provided, trotting or cantering is not permitted in the walkways or car park
Non-competitive jumping is allowed
No spurs to be worn by competitors under 17 years old and not permitted in handy pony, games or any beginner's class
All junior competitors must wear a hard hat for all in hand classes, hard hats are recommended for senior competitors but not compulsory
Dogs MUST be kept on leads at all times, all mess to be cleaned up and disposed of in the bins provided
All entrances and walkways must be left clear to allow access for emergency vehicles
ZERO TOLERANCE TO ABUSE/THREATENING BEHAVIOUR to another person on the showground. Anyone found doing so will be asked to leave the ground and banned from future events
